As chairperson for one of the most successful national conventions of a major nonpartisan political organization,
Bette Lawrence-Water helped increase volunteer recruitment from 0-500 volunteers in less than 1 year. She also cultivated leadership for 26 standing committees, effectively communicated with representatives from 50 states, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

Her skill as a dynamic and innovative lecturer, an award-winning leader, and a person genuinely concerned about contributing to a better future has enabled her to present before such groups as: The League of Women Voters, Literacy Volunteers of America, and the Association of Fund Raising Professionals, Pitney Bowes, National-Louis University, Chamber of Commerce, and others. She holds a M.S. degree in Managerial Leadership and is completing studies towards a Ph.D. in Applied Management, specializing in Leadership and Organizational Change.
